Fall Brings Exciting Addition to Northstar Dermatology in Keller, TX

Keller, Texas – Northstar Dermatology and Dr. Sina Aboutalebi are pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Tan, MD from Harvard Dermatology will be joining the team at Northstar Dermatology in October 2014.

Dr. Tan is a board-certified dermatologist who is also fellowship-trained in pediatric dermatology, and specializes in the diagnosis and management of skin diseases in patients of all ages. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and American Board of Pediatric Dermatology, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and serves on the Board of Directors for the SHADE Foundation of America. She has co-authored a number of journal articles and book chapters and is a frequent national and international lecturer.

A native of Maplewood, New Jersey, Dr. Tan graduated from the BA/MD program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-Rutgers University with Distinction in Research. She received the Bruce Fisher award for academic achievement and compassionate patient care and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Humanism in Medicine Honor Societies.

Dr. Tan completed a residency with the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program, serving as chief resident in her final year. Following a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Boston Children’s Hospital, she served as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School for three years.

An active volunteer, Dr. Tan worked with Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program to develop a free clinic, volunteered with the US Indian Health Service in New Mexico, and the American Academy of Dermatology’s International Program in the South African country of Botswana. For her commitment to volunteerism and service, Dr. Tan received a “Members Make a Difference Award” from the American Academy of Dermatology in 2012 and the 2013 “Brigham and Women’s Health Care Center for Faculty Development Pillar Award” for Community Service.
