Skin tags are small skin overgrowths that typically develop in areas where skin or clothing creates friction, such as the underarms, neck, groin, or beneath the breasts. However, they can also appear on other parts of the body, including sensitive areas like the eyelids. Composed of skin fibers, nerve cells, and fat cells, skin tags resemble tiny flaps of tissue that protrude from the skin. They are usually benign and asymptomatic.
