Amir Aboutalebi, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon serving patients in Fort Worth, Texas, at Northstar Dermatology and Northstar Mohs & Skin Surgery. His clinical practice is dedicated to medical dermatology, the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, and injectable cosmetic services.

A native of Coppell, Texas, Dr. Aboutalebi graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He was recognized as a Fulbright Scholar, allowing him to investigate health systems ethics in Spain, where he also volunteered with the Red Cross. Dr. Aboutalebi earned his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a medical internship at Houston Methodist Hospital before his dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School. His residency training included rotations at esteemed institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Following his residency and nearly a decade of clinical practice in dermatology, Dr. Aboutalebi’s dedication to excellence in skin cancer treatment led him to pursue an advanced fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Florida State University. This specialized training provided him with comprehensive expertise in surgical precision, microscopic margin analysis, and complex reconstructive techniques designed to achieve optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes for patients.

In addition to his surgical training, Dr. Aboutalebi has a strong commitment to education. During his Mohs fellowship, he oversaw the cosmetic clinic for University of Central Florida dermatology residents, providing instruction on injectable techniques including neuromodulators and dermal fillers. He has authored multiple articles and presented at both regional and national conferences. Dr. Aboutalebi is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Texas Dermatological Society, and the Texas Medical Association. His personal interests include sailing, sketching, cooking, and photography.
